This course aims to provide candidates with the skills and knowledge required to respond effectively as a key member of the on board command fire fighting team and manage fire prevention, coordinate tactical fire fighting and use and maintain fire fighting and fire detection equipment..

• Definition of Classes of Fire
2. Codes & Standards of Fire Protection NFPA Codes
• NFPA 13- Standard for Installation of Sprinkler System.
• NFPA 14- Standards for Installation of Stand pipes, Private, Hydrant Hose system.
• NFPA 20- Standard for Installation of Fire Pumps.
• Coverage of Codes of Practice (NFPA 12)
3. Water based Fire Protection system.
• Fire Water Demand
4. Fire Sprinkler System.
• Sprinkler density/ Area requirements.
• NFPA Standards for Fire Sprinkler and Stand pipe system.
• Sprinkler system types.
• Sprinkler system components.
• Stand pipe description and Classes (Riser sizes, Max Pressure).
• Sprinkler Head K-factor, Temperature Rating, Configurations and Types.
• Number of sprinkler allowed as per Pipe Size.
• Automatic Sprinkler
5. System Design.
• Establishing Pipe sizes-Sprinkler Positioning-Sprinkler system layout.
• Drainage of Sprinkler System.
• Determining Building Fire flow demand.
• Required Fire Flow Duration of Supply.
• Design of fire Hydrant system.
• Working pressure of fire protection system.
• Materials and Wall thicknesses-Pipe joints-Piping layout and Design.
• Maximum protection area per standard sprinkler.
• Arrangement of Dry and Wet riser.
• Water supply connection to Wet pipe sprinkler system
• Preparation of Sprinkler layout / Sprinkler Riser Drawings.
6. hydraulic calculation program
• Training on how to use Elite program for hydraulic calculation.
7. Gas Firefighting & Alarming
• Different gas fire fighting system
• Design of CO2 fire extinguishing system.

• Clean agent fire fighting ( FM 200).
